What My Clients Say

Client Testimonials

"I went to Ena for the microshading and I'm in love!! I've been following her for years on social media, but never thought I would get it done because the places I went to never had the skill and professionalism that Ena has. My eyebrows came out beautiful! They are so perfect, natural and amazing! And the best part is that they look very natural! It's incredible. My experience with eyebrows by Ena was amazing.

"I've gone to Ena for my eyebrows every few months for a year and a half now. Every time I leave, I feel like my eyebrows are on point and she's taught me how to shape and fill them in at home as well. I'm very picky about my eyebrows being symmetrical, so it's great that she takes the time to make sure they're perfect before the wax/shading. The location is easy to get to and Ena is super friendly and professional.

FAQ's

The most comprehensive answers to all your Microblading questions!

Frequent Asked Questions

1. Is microblading worth the money?

The cost of microblading can vary depending on the location and the experience of the technician performing the procedure. Whether or not it is worth the money is a subjective decision that ultimately depends on an individual's personal preferences and budget. It's best to research the cost and reviews of microblading artists in your area, and consult with a professional before making a decision.

2. What is the downside of microblading?

Some potential downsides of microblading include:

  • Pain during the procedure
  • Risk of infection or allergic reaction
  • The color may not match your natural brow color
  • The strokes may appear too harsh or unnatural
  • It may not last as long as expected
  • Touch-ups may be required
  • it requires regular maintenance
Microblading is a tattooing process, and like any tattoo, it has a risk of not liking the final result, or the color fading unevenly. It's important to do your research and choose a skilled, licensed professional for the procedure, follow aftercare instructions and consider all the potential downsides before committing to microblading.

3. How long does a microblading last?

The longevity of microblading can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the individual's skin type, sun exposure, and the quality of the ink used. On average, microblading can last anywhere from 1-3 years before needing to be touched up or redone, however, it can last even shorter for some people. It is important to keep in mind that microblading is not a one-time procedure and will require regular touch-ups to maintain the desired look. It's always best to consult with a professional who can give you an estimate of how long it will last and how often you'll need touch-ups.

4. How painful is microblading?

Pain tolerance can vary from person to person, but most people find the procedure to be only mildly uncomfortable. The technician will apply a numbing cream before the procedure to minimize any discomfort. Some people may experience slight discomfort or a tingling sensation during the procedure, but it should not be unbearable. Pain after the procedure is minimal, but some redness, swelling, or tenderness is to be expected. It's important to keep in mind that everyone has different pain tolerance levels, and some may find the procedure to be more painful than others.

5. What do dermatologists say about microblading?

Opinions among dermatologists vary. Some dermatologists are supportive of microblading as a cosmetic procedure when performed by a trained and licensed professional and when proper aftercare is followed. However, some dermatologists may have concerns about the potential risks and complications associated with the procedure. They may advise caution when considering microblading, particularly if you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies. They may also recommend that you avoid certain types of pigments, or advise you to wait until certain skin conditions have cleared before undergoing the procedure. It's important to consult with a dermatologist before getting microblading, as they can advise on the best course of action for your individual case.

6. What happens to microblading as you age?

As you age, the results of the microblading may change. As the skin ages, it may lose elasticity and the microbladed strokes may start to blur or fade. Sun exposure can also cause the pigment to fade more quickly. The color of the microbladed strokes may also change over time. It's also important to note that as you age your natural hair color may change, and it may not match the color of the microblading. To maintain the desired look, touch-ups may be required more frequently as you age. It's best to discuss with your technician the expected outcome and how often touch-ups may be needed as you age.

7. What I wish I knew before microblading?

Here are a few things that may be helpful to know before getting microblading:

  1. Research: Look for reviews, pictures, and prices of different microblading artists in your area, and choose a skilled, licensed professional.
  2. Expectations: Microblading is a tattooing process and the results may not be exactly as expected. The strokes may appear too harsh or unnatural, so it's important to have realistic expectations.
  3. Maintenance: Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure, that requires touch-ups to maintain the desired look. Be prepared to schedule regular touch-up appointments.
  4. Pain: Microblading may cause some discomfort, but it should not be unbearable. The technician will apply a numbing cream before the procedure to minimize any discomfort.
  5. Aftercare: Proper aftercare is crucial to the healing process and the final result of the microblading. Be sure to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your technician.
  6. Cost: Microblading can be costly, so it's important to consider the cost and whether it fits into your budget.
  7. Long-term outcome: Microblading is a semi-permanent technique, and the results may change over time as you age, or due to sun exposure and other factors.
  8. Think about the future: Before going for microblading, think about how you want your brows to look in the future and if microblading fits with your desired long-term look.
It's always best to consult with a professional and ask any questions you may have before committing to the procedure.

8. Do they shave your eyebrows before microblading?

Before the procedure, the technician will typically shape and trim the existing eyebrows to create a clean canvas for the microblading. Some technicians may shave off some or all of the existing hair, but it depends on the individual's existing hair growth and the desired look. However, most technicians will not shave your eyebrows before microblading, instead they will just trim or shape them. It's important to discuss your expectations and any concerns you may have with the technician before the procedure.

9. Does microblading mess up your eyebrows?

When done correctly by a skilled, licensed professional, it should not mess up your eyebrows. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there is always a risk of complications or unsatisfactory results. Some possible complications include:

  • Allergic reactions to the ink
  • Infection
  • Scarring
  • Uneven color or strokes
  • Over-plucking or over-shaving of existing hair
It's important to do your research, choose a skilled and licensed professional, and discuss your expectations and any concerns you may have before the procedure. Also, It's important to follow proper aftercare instructions provided by the technician to minimize the risk of complications.

10. Do microbladed eyebrows look real?

When done by a skilled and licensed professional, microbladed eyebrows can look very realistic. The technician will use a handheld tool to make fine, hair-like strokes that mimic the look of natural brow hair. The pigment used in the procedure is also matched to the natural color of the individual's hair and skin. However, the final result of the microblading will depend on the technique, the skill of the technician and the individual's skin type. Some may not look as natural as you desire, it's important to have realistic expectations, research and consult with a professional to understand the possible outcome of the procedure, and choose the right technician for you.

11. Do you bleed during microblading?

Some bleeding may occur during the procedure, but it is minimal and should not be excessive. The technician will use a handheld tool to make fine, hair-like strokes on the skin, which can cause some light bleeding. However, this is normal and is not something to be overly concerned about. If you have a bleeding disorder or are taking blood-thinning medication, it's important to let your technician know before the procedure. To minimize any bleeding, the technician may apply a numbing cream before the procedure, and use a steady and light hand while doing the microblading.

12. Is 60 too old for microblading?

Age is not a determining factor for microblading, and many people in their 60s or older choose to get the procedure. However, it's important to keep in mind that as we age, our skin changes, and it can be more delicate, thin, and dry. It may not hold pigment as well as it used to, and it may also heal slower. It's important to consult with a professional and let them know your age and any health concerns you may have before getting the procedure done. Also, as you age, your natural hair color may change and it may not match the color of the microblading, so it's important to think about the long-term outcome before getting the procedure.

13. Why do they say no coffee before microblading?

It's common for professionals to advise their clients not to consume coffee or any other caffeinated beverages before the procedure. This is because caffeine is a stimulant that can cause blood vessels to constrict, resulting in reduced blood flow to the area being tattooed. This can make the procedure more uncomfortable and can also affect the healing process of the tattooed area. Additionally, caffeine can also cause the heart rate to increase, which in some cases can lead to increased bleeding during the procedure. By avoiding caffeine and other stimulants before the microblading procedure, the skin will be less likely to bleed, resulting in a cleaner and more precise application of the pigment. It's always best to follow the advice and recommendations of your microblading technician before the procedure.

14. How do you sleep after microblading eyebrows?

After the procedure, it's important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your technician to ensure proper healing. Sleeping with your head elevated and avoiding sleeping on your face can help prevent any smudging or rubbing of the newly-microbladed area. You may also want to use a soft pillowcase and avoid using any heavy creams, lotions, or oils on the area for the first few days. It's also recommended to avoid sweating, swimming and submerging your face in water for at least a week after the procedure. Remember to keep the area clean, moisturized and protected from sun exposure. Following these steps should help ensure proper healing and the best possible outcome for your microbladed eyebrows.

15. What not to eat before microblading?

Before the procedure, it's important to avoid certain foods and beverages that can thin your blood and increase the risk of bleeding. These include:

  • Alcohol
  • Caffeine
  • Vitamin E supplements
  • Fish oil supplements
  • Aspirin or other blood-thinning medications
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Ginkgo Biloba
  • Ginseng
  • Turmeric
It's best to consult with your microblading technician for specific recommendations on what to avoid before the procedure. Additionally, it's also important to stay hydrated and well-nourished, as it can help with the healing process. It's always best to follow the advice and recommendations of your microblading technician before the procedure.

16. What not to do 24 hours before microblading?

To ensure the best possible results and minimize the risk of complications, it's important to follow certain guidelines before the procedure. Here are a few things you should avoid doing 24 hours before your microblading appointment:

  • Consuming alcohol
  • Consuming caffeine
  • Taking aspirin or other blood-thinning medications
  • Sunbathing or tanning
  • Waxing or threading your eyebrows
  • Exfoliating your face
  • Going to the gym or doing any activities that may cause you to sweat excessively
  • Taking a long hot shower or bath
It's always best to follow the advice and recommendations of your microblading technician before the procedure. By avoiding these activities, your skin will be less likely to bleed and your microblading will be more precise and accurate.

17. How do I prepare for my first microblading?

Preparing for your first microblading appointment can help ensure that you get the best possible results and minimize the risk of complications. Here are a few things you can do to prepare for your microblading appointment:

  1. Research: Look for reviews and prices of different microblading artists in your area, and choose a skilled, licensed professional.

  4. Avoid certain food and drink: Avoid consuming alcohol, caffeine, and any blood-thinning medications 24 hours before the procedure
  5. Follow pre-care instructions: Follow any pre-care instructions provided by your technician.

  7. Wear comfortable clothing: Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your eyebrows.
By following these guidelines, you can help ensure that your microblading goes smoothly and you get the best possible results. Remember to always follow the advice and recommendations of your microblading technician before the procedure.

18. Do you still have to pluck after microblading?

After the procedure, you may still need to pluck stray hairs or shape your brows to maintain their desired shape and fullness. The microblading procedure creates hair-like strokes that mimic the appearance of natural brow hair, but it doesn't replace the need to maintain the natural hair growth. So, it's important to continue with your usual grooming routine, including plucking, waxing or threading, to keep your brows looking their best.

It's also important to note that microblading does not stop or slow down the natural hair growth, so it's expected that you'll need to continue your usual grooming routine. It's always best to follow the advice and recommendations of your microblading technician for the best aftercare and maintenance of your microbladed eyebrows.

19. Can anyone get their eyebrows done?

You must be 18+ or older. But technically everyone is eligible however there are some exceptions. If you are: Pregnant, Breastfeeding, Diabetic, have glaucoma, skin diseases, Keloid disorder, HIV/Hepatitis, Skin cancer or if you're taking medications for the skin like steroids.
